Elevate Your Bed-Making Game: How to Make YOUR BED LIKE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER

There’s something magical about slipping into a perfectly made bed. But getting it just right takes a bit of technique.

READ below for tips on how to make the perfect bed that even designers would swoon over.

Here’s how to elevate your bed-making game, one crisp fold at a time:

1. Start with Fresh Sheets (Because You Deserve It)

The foundation of a perfect bed is, of course, fresh sheets. If you have the time, give them a quick press with the iron (but no judgment if you skip this step—it’s a personal choice, like wearing socks to bed). The key is smoothness. If you're skipping the iron, we recommend taking them straight from the dryer to the bed- no wrinkles allowed.

2. The Top Sheet Trick

Lay the flat sheet with the finished edge facing the head of the bed, and tuck the sheet tightly under the mattress at the foot. The sheet should fall evenly on either side, almost like it’s hugging your bed. The trick? Don’t tuck too tightly at the top—let the sheet flow just a little to encourage a relaxed vibe. You’re going for elegance, not a military barracks.

3. Add a Cozy Blanket or Comforter

Pull your blanket or comforter up to the top of the bed, making sure it’s evenly distributed. If you have a duvet, make sure it’s fluffed up—think of it as your bed's version of a good hair day. A little extra fluffiness goes a long way in achieving that hotel-quality look.

4. The Pillow Pyramid

Next, the pillows. Start with the biggest ones in the back (usually your standard sleeping pillows) and stack them slightly askew. Add your decorative pillows in front, maybe in pairs for symmetry—or a fun, perfectly-mismatched cluster if you’re feeling a little bold. Pillows are like the accessories of the bed; They’re the finishing touch that elevates the entire look.

5. The Finishing Touch: The “Tuck & Fluff”

This is where the magic happens. Tuck in the edges at the foot of the bed just enough to keep everything neat, but not too tight. The goal is a soft, inviting finish—not the “hospital corner” look. The final touch? A folded comforter at the edge of the bed. Not only does it add visual appeal, but it’s perfect when you want to rest or snuggle up with a book without disturbing your perfectly made bed before it's time to sleep!
