19 Mar Best Gray Paint Colors: An Interior Designer’s Favorite Picks
Much like white paint, your options are endless when it comes to gray paint. To make the selection process a little less overwhelming, it helps to know the four types of gray paint:
- Neutral
- Warm
- Cool
- Dark
Neutral grays (sometimes referred to as greige), can fit with almost all interior design styles. They also pair nicely with lots of other color palettes. Warm grays look best in traditional or country-inspired rooms. The inviting hue is very welcoming in a living room or parlor. Cool grays have blue undertones, giving any room a very calming feel. I like this color best for a bedroom or even a nursery. Cool grays fit great in a style that is coastal, contemporary, or minimalist. Dark grays are much more modern and industrial than the other types of gray. Like cool grays, this color can work well in a minimalist style room. It’s also very popular for great, open rooms in a city setting.
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite gray paints, so you have a good starting point for your next project. Let me know when we can get started!
