Best Cream Paint Colors: An Interior Designer’s Favorite Picks

Back by popular demand, it’s my best paint color picks! This month, I’m going to focus on another neutral: cream. Cream paints are warm and cozy; they also provide a wonderful compromise if you are stuck between a gray and a white paint. Read on to see which are my faves.

Soft Chamois Cream – Benjamin Moore

As a part of Benjamin Moore’s Off-White collection, Soft Chamois Cream is the perfect choice for a space you want to relax in. I can totally see myself curling up with a good book in this armchair, or taking a nice bubble bath in this bathroom, while surrounded by this tranquil hue.

Natural Cream – Benjamin Moore

Another pick from the Off-White Collection, Natural Cream could be considered a “greige,” or a combo of gray and beige. Your room’s lighting and accents will determine if the color tones are more gray, or more beige. I personally love it with a tint that is more beige in these sunny hallways. Pro tip: choosing to either layer your neutrals or utilize pops of color can create a fun contrast when using this shade, or other shades of greige.

Valspar – Cream in My Coffee

I had some dreams, they were Valspar’s “Cream in My Coffee, Cream in My Coffee.” (I’m a Carly Simon fan, what can I say?!). This has to be one of the most popular cream/off-white paint shades. I love this look as an accent color or on a non-traditional wall. These kitchen cabinets are so classic and chic, but this mudroom wall is the prefect modern farmhouse look. Which way do you prefer?

Farrow and Ball – School House White

Much like “Cream in My Coffee,” I love the look of School House White on a nontraditional wall. Farrow and Ball really tried to recreate the feel of the first schoolhouses with this hue, and I think they succeeded! Still, the color looks great in a modern and trendy interior; don’t you love the pairing of the color with this rattan chair?

Sherwin Williams – Eider White

Rounding out my list today is Sherwin Williams’ Eider White. Another highly popular cream, this color is often categorized as a cool white. However, with just the right neutral touches, like cream curtains and gray furniture, the creamy undertones definitely pop out.

Sherwin Williams – Alabaster

Alabaster is another warm white, and it is similar to White Dove. This white is just creamy enough to be warm without overwhelming a room, and it still reads as a bright white.
